What to expect.
The Bay of Islands contains some of New Zealand's most spectacular and least-visited walking tracks — but most of them are only accessible by boat. Our island adventure charters give your group private access to these trails, beaches, and landscapes that the vast majority of visitors never experience.
We'll drop you at the trailhead, anchor nearby, and either explore the coastline ourselves or wait at a nearby beach while you walk. When you're ready, we pick you up — no shuttles, no schedules, no other groups. Just you, the trail, and the Bay.
Popular destinations include the Urupukapuka Island circuit, the Cape Brett track, and the secluded beaches of Moturua Island. Your skipper will recommend the best option based on your group's fitness level, the day's conditions, and the time of year.

Common Questions
What fitness level is required?
It depends on the trail. We have options for all fitness levels, from gentle coastal walks to more challenging full-day tracks. Let us know your group's preferences and we'll recommend accordingly.
Can we combine hiking with swimming or fishing?
Absolutely. Many guests choose to hike in the morning and spend the afternoon swimming or snorkelling at a nearby beach. We'll build the day around your preferences.
When do you operate island adventures?
We operate from 1 November through 31 March each year. During this period the islands are at their best — warm water for swimming, dry tracks for hiking, and long days to make the most of your time. Your skipper will advise on the best options for the day.
